Diabetes Ophthalmology

Diabetic retinopathy is a condition in which blood vessels in the retina enlarge, leak, or totally close. On the surface of the retina, abnormal new blood vessels might form. Diabetic retinopathy is a condition that affects people who have diabetes or have poor blood sugar management. The longer someone has diabetes, the higher the risk.
